Wayne Davis

President
Wayne founded W. M. Davis, Inc. in 1987. W. M. Davis, Inc. is a General Contracting firm based in Leonardtown, Maryland. It provides construction services for projects in the tri-county area of St. Mary’s, Calvert and Charles counties. Projects range in price from minimal to $6 million. Projects include Custom Homes, Churches, Office Buildings, Commercial and Industrial buildings. W. M. Davis, Inc. is a dealer of Pre-Engineered buildings and is a representative for American Buildings Company and Nucor Building Systems.

Wayne is General Manager of Davis Office Park, LLC and W. M. Davis Development Holdings, LLC. His duties for these companies is managing and developing real estate properties, shopping centers, office buildings, flex warehouses and apartment buildings.

Wayne is also the General Manager for SMC Group, LLC, a real estate leasing firm. Wayne oversees the daily operations of the leasing company.

He is a partner with F&W, LLC. This firm owns a commercial office building in Lexington Park, Maryland. 

W. M. Davis, Inc. is a member of the St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce, Calvert County Chamber of Commerce and Charles County Chamber of Commerce, Leonardtown Business Association, Chesapeake Shores Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors Association. 

Wayne was appointed to the St. Mary’s County Economic and Development Committee and served as its Vice President in 1998.  He was also appointed to the St. Mary’s County Development Review Forum. He has served on numerous civic organization boards including Chamber of Commerce of St. Mary’s County, Historic Sotterley Foundation, Patuxent Habitat for Humanity, Leonardtown Lions Club and Leonardtown Rotary Club to name a few. 

Wayne graduated from Chopticon High School in 1969. He furthered his education and graduated with a degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1973.  Further studies included Real Estate Appraising, Residential Real Estate and a Real Estate License with Southern Maryland Board of Realtors.  Wayne also received construction education through ARMCO Building Systems and Butler Manufacturing in Pre-Engineered Metal Building Products, Product Design, Product Pricing, Insulation Systems, Commercial & Industrial Financing.

Wayne is married, lives in Leonardtown, Maryland and has four children – Austin, William, Kristin and Deanna. Wayne is a passionate, amateur photographer. He operates his own photography company, Eyescape, LLC

        

 

Austin Davis, W.M. Davis, Inc.

Vice President
Austin joined the company in 1995. He serves as the Business Development Manager, Project Manager and Safety Director. He is the Property Facility Manager for W. M. Davis Development Holdings, LLC. Austin received his Business Administration Degree from the College of Southern Maryland. As Business Development Manager, Austin pursues leads on potential projects. He oversees the estimating department and prepares bid packages. Austin’s responsibilities, as Project Manager, include subcontractor selection, purchasing, scheduling, building code compliance and quality control. Austin is OSHA certified. As Safety Director he ensures all projects are following proper safety precautions.          

Charlie Owen, W.M. Davis, Inc

Senior Project Manager/Estimator, Commercial Division

Charlie has been with W. M. Davis, Inc. for twenty-two years. He provides project management support for field superintendents. With twenty-nine years construction experience, he is responsible for the construction of commercial buildings including warehouses, nursing homes, office buildings, hospitals, and churches. Charlie also coordinates all phases of construction, site layout and engineering, coordination with utilities, foundations, steel structures, pre-engineered buildings, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and all interior applications and finishes. 

 

Scott Tennyson, W.M. Davis, Inc.

Project Manager

Scott provides project management support for field superintendents. He coordinates all phases of construction, site layout and engineering, coordination with utilities, foundations, steel structures, pre-engineered buildings, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and all interior applications and finishes. Scott has over ten years in the construction business - performing estimating tasks preparing bid packages, project management including ordering materials, scheduling subcontractors, and various phases of construction.

Rick has served as the Commercial/Residential Estimator for W. M. Davis, Inc. since June 2002. Rick provides drafting support for Design Build Projects and in-house computer technical support. He also provides project management support for field superintendents and manages the overall construction development of commercial projects.

Wendy’s career as Controller with W. M. Davis, Inc. began in 2004. She has over 35 years Construction Accounting experience. In addition to managing the Accounting & Office Team, she is responsible for all aspects of Finance and Accounting for W. M. Davis, Inc., General Contractor and affiliated W. M. Davis Development Holdings, LLC, Property Development companies.

 

 

 

 

Barbara Wilbe, W.M. Davis, Inc.

Business Office Manager

Barbara joined W. M. Davis, Inc. in 2004. Barbara has over 30 years Business and Construction Accounting experience. She is responsible for the daily accounting functions, works directly with project managers in all phases of projects and serves as the Prime Contracts and Subcontracts Manager. She maintains professional relationships with vendors and subcontractors.  Barbara is the office point of contact for field superintendents. The daily office operations are some of her duties as well. She has an accounting degree from the College of Southern Maryland. In her spare time, Barbara is an emergency medical technician with the Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad. 

She lives in Hollywood, Maryland with her husband Ronnie.

Laura Thompson, W.M. Davis, Inc.

Rental Property Manager

Laura has been with W. M. Davis, Inc. since 2004. She has over 30 years Business and Construction Accounting experience. She is the Rental Property Manager for W. M. Davis Development Holdings, LLC and SMC Group, LLC. Laura is the point of contact for prospective clients and tenants. Between the two companies, there are over 70 tenants. Laura is responsible for tenant maintenance requests and ensures the repairs are performed. She maintains the leases and all Accounting aspects for the two companies. She assists the President and Vice President of W. M. Davis, Inc. with all aspects of the development and leasing of properties. She maintains the accounts for Council of Unit Owners of Breton Marketplace, Inc. and St. Mary’s Industrial Park Business Association, Inc. In addition to these duties, Laura assists the W. M. Davis, Inc. office staff and field employees.

Laura is married and lives in Hollywood, Maryland with her husband Mark.

Shawna Norris, W.M. Davis, Inc.

Shawna Norris

Receptionist

Shawna joined the company in 2005. She serves as administrative support to all staff members and manages the front desk from administrative skills to daily support of office personnel. She also assists estimators and project managers with bid packages, proposals, preparation of reports, spreadsheets and other office documents.
